Course overview
Decide Behind the Veil is a one-week applied micro-course on Rawls’s veil of ignorance. It teaches a practical skill—designing fair policies—as a repeatable test, not mere good intentions. You select one real decision you own in the first lesson and carry it through six sessions, learning to strip away your standpoint, safeguard the worst-off, apply Rawls’s two principles, and spot self-interest in rules. By week’s end, you will have a defended, position-blind design for a decision you own, produced to a published quality standard and framed by the theory’s major critiques.
